Padden Mtn Pedal

Go, Team Mahonia!
Naomi, Owen, Collin, Sawyer, and Natalie represented North Mahonia Place!
Collin and Owen (#12 and #13) rocked their first mountain bike ride Sunday the 18th! It was a fun ride for kids 10 and under down at Lake Padden, and it was a smashing success for our two little men!

Gearing up for the ride:
Collin held the lead much of the race:
Apparently (I wasn't there; I was home contracting and watching Kate) Owen was about 6 riders deep for most of the race (of approximately 25 riders), but in the final leg, he kicked it into overdrive and those little legs pumped those tiny wheels and he passed up the competition, nearly giving his brother a run for his money as they crossed the finish line - Collin in 1st and Owen in 2nd!

The kids each earned a finishers medal and new bells/horns for their bikes! Owen's horn is an Orcas Whale; Collin chose a tomato bell.
What a fun event!! They were both bursting with pride AND joy!
